And I fully agree, cause while I think most scaling tech right now is doing its job perfectly, I also believe that ZK will end up being the most widely adopted for multiple reasons.
I like Optimistic tech but ZK is still faster and more importantly, a lot more secure. The only draw back is that ZK requires more computational power however this will become less and less of an issue the more development efforts and funds are bring put into the system.
If anything, wβre starting to see a shift in L2s and commit chains towards from optimistic focused technology ZK technology. A ton of development is being implemented towards this right now with some L2 networks like Polygon have developed and are in the processes of developing four ZK based scaling solutions (Miden, Zero, Hermez, and most recently an open source zkEVM) two of which are SNARKS.
Others like Zksync (as the name implies) and Loopring are also focused on developing ZK scaling solutions with Zksync launching a testnet (although its still closed source to this day despite them saying that they'll change for months now)
I dont think that Optimistic tech will disappear. It still has its pros given certain situations but overall, I think that ZK tech packs more pros overall and is mostly superior in the vast majority of situations, otherwise Ethereum wouldnt have taken the decision to make the chain ZK focused
