I tried explaining money to my 5-year-old and it led to me writing a children's book ????????‍♀️

First, I know this is reddit, I am sure I will get hit with all the types of feedback possible, but still want to throw it out there.

I'm a father of two (with one more coming), and I came across a bit of challenge that maybe other parents here have faced (or aunts, uncles, etc..). My 5-year old is getting into trading Pokémon cards, doing chores to earn money, and has started her first piggy bank.

While I am excited to help teach her about making a good trade, saving her money, working hard, etc.. I realized there is a definitely a gap in understanding what money really is to her. It seems like we jump into skills and practices of money, before actually teaching value. So I started searching for a good bedtime book (we do a lot of bedtime reading) to introduce bare bones basics.

While looking to the usual places for books, I found that most are teaching saving, investing, counting, and not exploring the nature of money, especially for kids aged 4-8. And if there is a half decent book on topic, then it is often too complex or misses the mark on age-appropriate language (especially when you try to tie in Bitcoin). Tuttle twins are really good, but I think skews a little bit older.

In general, there seems to be a shortage of resources aimed at helping young children, who are just starting their journey with money, to grasp what gives it value.

So, the last few months I sat down and wrote a children's book based on my daughters stuff hedgehog and wanted to share it.
