If cryptocurrency projects are not hiring because the applicant is not based in the country where the dev team(s) are located, does that mean the project is centralized?

All Cryptocurrencies

I'm slightly venting right now.

I'm based in Asia, a one or two hour time zone difference with Hong Kong and Singapore, where many teams base their staff.

Circle, Coinbase, Binance, the odd altcoin project, you name it, I've applied for it never ever to get a job interview, which is a far cry from what you would see in 2021.

I am wondering if, at this point in time, all companies are holding off on hiring specifically because a recession is likely right around the corner, or if a lot of the people applying are remote and unable to take the job due to security concerns, or maybe the CEO / CPO of that company is looking for magicians instead of the staff they posted the position for.

I've heard of stories where people are hunting for (non-crypto) jobs in America and go to 6 or 7 different job interviews with one company only to be told, "We are not sure if we want to hire for this position right now."
