The idea is Bold will let you:
Spend on a revolving USD line of credit collateralized by your bitcoin
Avoid triggering capital gains tax
Earn bitcoin rewards
This way you can spend dollars while you HODL.
The concept is that Bold is better than traditional credit cards because its limits are higher, rates are lower, payment terms are better, and rewards are in sats. It’s also better than bitcoin loans, because you only pay interest if you carry a balance, rather than borrowing a lump sum and paying interest on all of it starting day 1.
You unlock these benefits by posting some bitcoin as collateral.
We *never* rehypothecate your bitcoin collateral.
The collateral is held in a 2-of-4 multisig. You hold one key, Bold holds one key, Bold's capital partner holds one key, and there's a fourth 'safety' key held by a neutral arbitrator we hope never to touch.
Bold is a bitcoin only company. No alts.
