Inevitable loss of my cryptocurrencies just made me realize how wonderful cryptocurrencies are.

I got into all of this casually back in 2021 and still am casual now, one of the things I did back then was install the Brave browser because I'm on the internet a lot anyway why not accumulate some crypto while I'm at it maybe I'll get a small fortune when I retire. You know, the usual pipe dream we all have.

Skip to now, I found out that Brave is disabling crypto rewards for all users without an exchange linked and that ones I've already accumulated will be gone before April. My country is one of those countries not supported by the 3 exchanges Brave worked with and so of course I was sad, but then I thought why not actually use it? After all, one of the promises of Brave browser was the ease to tip your favourite content creator.

I started looking for creators to tip, until I found someone asking the same question and got a list of charities and non-profits that receive crypto, some of them are actually Verified Creators with Brave. 5 minutes later, I've just donated my paltry savings of magic internet money to charity organizations the world over and it certainly made me feel A LOT better about what's happening.

It's crazy to think that I live in an age where I can just give money anonymously to someone on the other side of the planet with a few clicks of the mouse and within seconds, if this was done through a bank they'd probably ask me shit and the process could take at least a day. Not to mention my country doesn't like people using international currencies on their turf so they'd ask me some questions to make sure I'm paying my taxes and not laundering any money or stuff.

Now that I've experienced it's usage first hand I look forward to the future of cryptocurrency even more, and I hope it's a bright one, I hope the technology become fast, secure, reliable, and easy enough for everybody who need/want it to use.

For now though, thank you Brave browser and BAT for the fun times, and for teaching me about the joy of using cryptocurrency.
