Don't those hackers need more than just access to your sim to actually hack your account? Don't they also need your password first and then email, google auth, etc if you also have those authenticators enabled?
Assuming that a person only has sms authentication enabled, the hacker still needs to know the password. Either the hacker got their password somewhere or the victim got phished into giving it.
This means that there must have been at least 2 vulnerabilities that happened so the blame shouldn't just solely be on sim swapping, right? Or is there something I'm missing?
