Just one day after the Network Congestion BTC fees returned to normal. Anyone saying that Bitcoin has to “change“ for a short-term issue does not understand it.

There was quite a lot of drama a few days ago when due to various reasons, such as Spam Attacks, Bitcoin Ordinals increasing the inscriptions, the Network fee of BTC had reached unusually high numbers as we entered a stage of Congestion, where at one point we even had over 400k unconfirmed transactions waiting and $19 fees.

Average Fee per block going above block rewards for the fifth time ever

Here we can see how the average fee per block had surpassed the block rewards themselves. But this also had happened five times in the past, just before 2017, and each time that kind of transaction fees did not hold for long.

Average fee per block returning to normal levels, just 24 hours afterwards

This time it was the same, just about one day after that spike the BTC transaction fees had returned to completely normal levels again. As the average fee per block decreased back under the block rewards for miners and even under 1 BTC per block.

Now during that small 24-hour window we still had quite an uproar by some people even demanding the change of the BTC Code to combat such situations easier and a ban of Bitcoin Ordinals etc. The truth is that Bitcoin even here is self-regulating enough and it would be a dumb move to change everything just because of a short-term problem like that.
