Linking Brave Browser to Gemini. This is what you need to approve. WTF?

As most of you know, Brave is going to require users to connect their account to a custodial exchange, in the US that'd be Gemini, to comply with regulations. I get that, and am totally fine with that as I think smart regulations will overall be a good thing for crypto.

The part that is pissing me off is, when you link your Brave to Gemini, these are the things you need to approve:

Brave Browser is requesting access to your Primary account:

• Create and view recipient ids and set payout currency
• Send payments to another user
• View account and user info
• View your balances
• View your trade history
• Withdraw cryptocurrency funds to approved addresses

Why the fuck do they need to be able to do all of that? Why the fuck does Brave need to see all of your balances and trades?

Also, I'm not comfortable at all with Brave being allowed to send payments to people from my account and be able to withdraw crypto. Seriously WTF? Why does Brave need to be allowed to withdraw crypto at all from your account at the exchange?

I am a big Brave and BAT fan but will not approve what they're asking. I'm fine with letting them know a Gemini account or better yet just a Gemini BAT address so they can comply with regulations and KYC rules but WTF do they need to be able to do the rest of that crap? Isn't Brave supposed to be the privacy browser? Why are they making people do this when seemingly they could have done this without being so invasive.

I hope this blows up and people demand better and we either get a response from Brave, or better yet, see some changes.
