I've been talking to my mum about bitcoin for a couple of years now. At first she didn't understand it. Then she didn't see the point at her age. But recently something clicked. I think the fact that in the UK, the authorities won't give financial help when you need care if you're a home owner until the equity in your home is depleted. So many of the retired working class in the UK are at risk of losing their homes in their later years. If when she reaches the ripe old age of 80 and beyond, bitcoin will of gone through 2 halvings. A modest amount of her savings put in bitcoin and DCA'ing a modest Β£20 a week could mean the difference between losing her home and living in provided accommodation, or hopefully affording to stay in her own home and pay for care without losing her assets. I think it goes to show that it's never too late to buy bitcoin. She understands the gamble but then she always did like a bit of a flutter on the horses ????
