I am looking into running my own node and have a few questions. I've done some DD, but I can't find clear answers on these questions.
If all I want to do is broadcast my own transaction, do I need to download the entire block chain?
Can I turn off my node and leave it dormant for days or months, and then turn it on to broadcast my own transaction?
Is it unsafe to run a node on my PC? Is it safest to run it on a dedicated computer?
The monthly/yearly energy cost of running a node deters me. Are there ways to mitigate this?
