There are turning out to be some very interesting times. US politics is currently in a mess, a bigger mess than usual, as the House of Representatives currently does not have a speaker which makes the much of the general jobs/actions(voting, passing of Bills/laws,launch investigations etc) of government virtually impossible to do, aside from what can be done through sole action of the President.

After the previous speaker was voted out, two previous nominees also failed to secure enough votes to win the Speaker status. Rep. Emmer is now the latest in this string of nominees. The difference here is that it goes without saying that there's a LOT going on in the world right now, and even in the US itself such that politicians may be more willing to simply vote for Emmer just to get things functional again and for Emmer, it is also positive that he managed to secure 10 more votes than the last nominee.

Given the movement of the price of Bitcoin as well as potential ETFs approval soon, if Emmer does manage to be elected, this could be very significant. Here are some of the things Emmer is noteworthy for:

• When asked about his bullishness of crypto he said it’s not about crypto, it’s about what crypto is facilitating – the movement towards Web3, or what he prefers to call the “ownership economy.”
• When FTX collapsed, Emmer said ""This actually might be a failure of character” addressing SBF. He also addressed the crypto crowd saying "You are here to stay. You are going to continue to grow. He also concluded sayng “You do not get growth without taking risk.”
• He also alleged Gensler was complicit with SBF and the fraud saying “Gary Gensler knows that FTX was fraudulent from its inception. This is egregious considering he had more meetings with Bankman-Fried than anyone in the space.”
• He, together with Rep.Davidson, introduced the SEC Stabilisation Act to fire Gensler and restructure the SEC
