During my daily degenerate commenting, I received a message saying I was tipped 0.01717781 BCH. I was skeptical about this message since I understand there are many people out to try and scam others for crypto. I reached out to ask this sub and to my surprise, you can tip in other cryptos besides Moons! “Why have I never heard of this?” I thought to myself. Intrigued by my recent discovery, I did some research and here’s what i’ve learned:

How does tipping work?

Tipping with cryptos other than moons (that are managed right through the reddit vault) are done through tipping bots. Tipping bots are programmed to handle tip transactions between the tipper and tippee. The tipper needs to initiate a tip by interacting with the bot. Then, the bot will automatically notify the tippee that they’ve either received said tip, or that they need to create a wallet for the tip to go into.

What cryptos can I tip with?

If you’d like to tip a user for their comment or post, you can tip with Moons (MOON), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Nano (XNO), Banano (BAN), and Dogecoin (DOGE), to name a few. I believe there are more cryptos you can tip with than these, and I would suggest researching to see if your favourite crypto can be tipped!

Why haven’t I heard of this before?
