Starting Crypto, how do I understand?

Recently, someone I know was recommending me crypto trading and so I started considering it. I mostly intend on trading smaller amounts over certain periods of time just to start playing it safe. The issue I’m having is watching some videos on it, I’m having trouble focusing on some of them and so much of the information is going over my head and so I’m lost. What’s a way I can follow through and understand the process better? How would I know what to buy? How would I know when it’s a good moment for me to buy? How would I know if it’ll work for me if so? What is everything I’d be doing? I’m just having trouble debating on if I should invest or not tonight.
