The amount of misinformation the average person has regarding crypto makes me depressed

I want to preface this by stating I am by no means an expert in crypto. I am new in the space and I am on a journey that involves constant learning.

I am a store manager at a convenience store and occasionally I will talk with someone who trades crypto, understands the space etc.

Most of the people I talk to are in the profit game, tied up in the meme world of DOGE and don’t truly understand the fundamentals.

Prime example.

I was talking to a customer today about crypto and I was explaining how I have an old ledger S I was willing to give to them so they could secure their coins (no ill intent here i upgraded to the Ledger Nano X so I don’t need two ledgers)

I start explaining the ledger asking if he is familiar etc and he proceeds to tell me that all of his bitcoins are in the safe deposit box at the bank.

I inquire what does he mean? Does he means his keys are in a safe deposit box? He says no my physical coins are in the bank.

Turns out this person believes that collectible “Bitcoin” coins he bought online of silver or gold are actual bitcoins that he can somehow cash in and sell when the time is right.

I attempted to explain some basic concept but he was convinced he owned actual bitcoins…that are sitting in a safe…

I wish people were more educated on the matter as I kind of feel bad for the misinformation some may be believing.
