This subreddit's energy has changed a lot in the last few months, but that's not a bad thing

All Cryptocurrencies

I'm typically on this sub several times a day, and I have seen how a good chunk of people lost interest in crypto, at least temporarily.

  • It wasn't uncommon to see 15k people online at any given time, now this number seems to be between 3-7k.
  • Top posts used to receive tens and even hundreds of awards on a regular basis
  • The daily was constant and absolutely buzzing

A lot of people seem to have moved on for the time being, and forgot or lost interest in crypto. I'm going to guess and say that a big chunk of those users are new to crypto and probably entered at or around the peak of the bull market.

And who can blame them for turning away from crypto? If I'd put money into something and see it crumble in a matter of weeks/months, I'd be put off as well. In fact, is exactly what happened to me in 2017. Took me a few good months to get back into crypto after that.

Bull markets is what grow this sub, but bear markets are what consolidates it.
