This summarises my path to extract ETH from the possibly-defunct Eidoo v2 (Android) over the last few days. I had my seed words from Eidoo (v1) in 2018 and hadn't used it since. The Eidoo website seems to be dead as do their few communities. Having installed Eidoo v2 on Android and recovered my ETH using the seed words, I was unable to send to a different ETH wallet, having tried to transfer over several days.
I had attempted to use these seed words in other Wallets but none recovered the balance, reading around suggests that Eidoo used a slightly different recovery process (my understanding may be flawed! https://medium.com/eidoo/how-to-backup-eidoo-private-keys-ce2a7ebdae7f )
My solution to transfer the recovered ETH:
- Enter Eidoo v2 (Android) App
- Tap Settings (cog wheel icon), choose "Export private key", select Ethereum, Next, enter password, copy out the long string
- Enter MyEtherWallet in the browser, select "Access my wallet"
- Scroll down to Software, select "Private key", enter the long string
- Transfer a tiny portion of the recovered balance to my current ETH wallet
- Upon success transfer the rest
Hopefully this helps someone else. Having returned to the Eidoo v2 app it still reports my full balance suggesting it isn't talking to whatever servers were behind it.
