The Veritree project is awesome. Basically you could donate 15 ADA or more to receive limited edition tree tokens. For each donated ADA 1 tree will be planted on your behalf with Veritree. People can use their tree tokens for limited edition trees and NFT digital art on redemption days, scheduled for Q1 2022. The goal was to plant 1 million trees of different species native to areas across different parts of Madagascar, Indonesia, Nepal, Kenya, Senegal and Haiti.
When it was first mentioned on this sub some time ago, it was about 10-20% completed I think. Just four days ago, u/Zzzoem posted that Samsung would partner up with them, planting their own 2 million trees. Veritree was at 55% completion at the time. Since then, the donations to Veritree took off and it’s now 100% complete!
In fact 1,001,000 trees will now be planted in 2022. The same amount of ADA has been donated. I’m baffled by the generosity of some. Crypto is not only for the greedy ones that want to get rich. Using crypto and blockchain technology to fund and support natural restoration projects is one of the best uses I’ve seen so far.
