wallet for total n00b

Let me preface this with an apology as I'm sure this content is repeated ad nauseam. I'm late to the bitcoin game, and just bought a small amount- <$200 worth. At this low level is it safe to keep it on Coinbase, or should I invest in a wallet? I searched the sub, and most of the responses were above my understanding at this point.

So basically I'm looking for the most complete begginer wallet that won't allow me to screw myself over somehow. Thanks in advance!
