Long story short I’m making the move from Colorado back to California and am apartment hunting in SF right now. Everyday I’ve been getting up super early and going to a cafe and then running around the city going to apartment tours.

Yesterday while I was near mission I went to a coffee that shop that had a sign handwritten saying they accepted crypto.

Sending over BTC is pretty slow and ETH fees can be high so I talked to the guy at the register and he said I could just transfer him $4.50 worth of Matic and he would make my drink.

It was simple enough just scan a QR code and send. It arrived in a minute or two while he was making my drink and I was off.

He should’ve set up an e-reader thing that could accept crypto transfers but since he was the owner I think this was just his idea of accumulating a little bit or avoiding CC fees or for tax reasons. Anyway Im for it, one crypto enthusiast to another so I’m glad I supported his business.

We are far off from smooth wide spread adoption but we’re taking baby steps in the right direction. If you see a business like this work with the owner and see if you can pay and make it work.
