Im sure he is out there somewhere watching everything that is going on, getting on with his life, but I really wonder if things are going the way he hoped
- BTC being taken over by a few celebrities with huge influence over price fluctuations
- The focus on investing and selling for fiat, not to replace dollars but as an investment to make more.
- BTC being used by huge companies as a way of storing wealth more often than as a medium of exchange for regular folks.
These are just a few of the things that I would love to hear his thoughts on, it is starting to seem like the idea of bitcoin as a medium of exchange is getting buried below its use as a store of value and investment tool.
Its my personal feeling, and I am probably wrong in some ways, but in the 8 odd years Ive been part of the community it does seem like there has been a shift away from "its the money of the future" towards, "how many fiat dollars can I get for it today? When can I sell out to buy a new lambo?" Im not saying there is anything wrong with this, we all need to live, and that requires money - but I wonder if Satoshi anticipated the way things would go.
