What material is there on financial economics with decentralised currencies?

One of the criticisms I had on CCs for years was the large energy usage, the potential for abuse by private organisations (like Amazon buying enough stake for example to be able to manipulate the value in a way that it profits their operations) and that there is little to none monetary economics developed but we all already treat BTC, Ether, you name it, as the next large thing.

For example, if I consider the rescue package of Greece a few years ago. It was more or less unforeseen and it was the choice of letting the country go bankrupt and letting people suffer who did nothing wrong (the greek population) or „print money“ and borrow forgivable debt to the government.

Even further, I can’t really find replacements for monetary policies to induce inflation or not, so give people the incentive to consume or not. Leaving out whether that is currently working out or not. All of this.

It would be great to get a few primers to read. As you know, having a technical great product is one thing, but for something so fundamental as money, value storing, etc., it needs to work for people who don’t care at all about blockchains.
