While the rest of the crypto world was melting yesterday - Reddit did a thing!

Yesterday Reddit released its official lineup of 2022 World Cup-related avatars!If you haven't already here is how you can claim yours:>style avatar>if it doesn't take you there go to the explore page and they will show up like this

There are about 34 different styles you can choose from! My favorite is the Canadian one :)

HOWEVER, since these are crypto-related we can't have nice things.These avatars are FREE to mint. Yes, that means you can make as many accounts as you would like and start claiming them (I don't endorse this). Maybe you just want to collect all of them - an innocent motive.

These are free drops - they aren't meant to make money. They are here so we can show off our World Cup teams in a way you couldn't before - straight through your profile pic.

Currently, most people who have claimed a WC Avatar only own 1 - close to 94%

People have found ways to mint as many as they would like (through creating multiple accounts) in an effort to make a buck:

Someone has over 1400 WC avatars. As of this morning (6 hours ago from the time of writing this post), they only had about 400 avatars. NO I am not here to Narc. I want to raise awareness - hopefully, someone from Reddit & OS can blacklist these people so that they can't offload their avatars via sales. Should Reddit have done better to stop this from happening? For sure. Don't even get me started with the rollout - many people weren't able to even see them on the explore page for a few hours after they did drop. Regardless it's not too late.

Credit to u/TurtlesBeSlow for getting my wheels turning! This drop is actually very important - and the sooner Reddit gets rid of the bots the better. WHY? Because this might only be a WC avatar think about how many more drops we can have?? A Stanley cup drop?? The NBA, NFL, Nascar! MLB, even cricket! The possibilities are endless. These style drops won't be created to make money - but instead get communities going and get the platform excited.
