Why aren’t hard forks as common anymore?

All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 46 Views

In the early days of crypto, I was happily surprised when I received my first lump sum of “free money” in the form of BCH when Bitcoin did a hard fork.

It seemed like several other projects also went through something similar when friends of mine kept boasting about free tokens they were getting deposited into their accounts rather frequently it seemed.

These days I hold only a handful of some of the more reputable coins, but I haven’t experienced a hard fork with any of those or even really heard of any major coins experiencing a hard fork in the past few years.

Have I just been oblivious to hard fork events, or are they really not as common now as they were in the early days of crypto?

Also, out of curiosity, how would the crypto market react to Bitcoin experiencing a hard fork event at the value it is today?
