As a Brit, I tip my hat to American crypto holders.

So, it's unfortunate that an 87 year old singlehandedly derailed the amendments to the infrastructure bill. It's naturally very disappointing news for anyone invested in cryptocurrencies and technological innovation.

However, over the last few days, I've been incredibly impressed at how my American cousins have mobilised themselves to fight against the US Senate. Fight against what seems like ignorance and general incompetence.

I've seen so many Reddit posts encouraging people to call and email their senators. I've seen it on this sub, but also on r/Bitcoin, r/Ethereum, r/Cardano, r/XRP and so forth. And I've seen the same on Twitter, YouTube and numerous crypto media websites.

You really mobilised. You really gave them hell. It's been a while since I've seen such an impressive level of political engagement by a group of people in such a short space of time. That last point is particularly important - you were extremely quick to respond.

You should be bloody proud of yourselves for taking the initiative and doing something about it, regardless of the result. It was really refreshing to see such passion and challenge come out of this community.

Lastly, remember that this isn't the end. Sure, you didn't get the result you wanted. But there's still the House of Representatives. There's still some years to go for this legislation to become a reality, meaning there's time yet to change things for the better. You crazy Americans can do it - I know you can - and just remember that your senators and congressmen are there to serve you, not the other way round.

So thank you from a Brit. You're doing a world of good by trying to make things for the better.
