Have a question regarding Eth NFTs

I was looking at opensea and some collections. I notice most collections have thousands of art, 5-10k

why are people making thousands of NFTs? instead of just 50 or 100. Greed? so they can sell more?

If this is about art, the artist can't make that many without ruining his quality. So I don't think the NFT is as much about art as much as it is like a game.

Can anyone tell me would a collection with less quantity be less fun? I think its more about having more quantity=more participants
