Make it easy for a Canadian newbie; help simplify the process of buying and storing BTC.

It seems that there is no one right way to do anything in this space. Every time I think I’ve finally got a topic down, the arguments commence and it just confuses me and I lose confidence again about the process.

I can see the value of Bitcoin and what it can do for the world, I want to be involved. But what would be helpful is constructive and simple advice on the (1) Canadian platforms that don’t rob you with fees or cause regulatory problems, and(2) moving and storing the coins into simple devices.

The rabbit hole is forever and I know these topics are like onions.

For example: I’m thinking about getting a cold card wallet. Great. Hear only good things about them, everyone loves it who uses it. Look into the product and find out that maybe it isn’t super beginner friendly but think it’s worth it to learn it for the safety of my investment. Okay. Then, I see all this info about internet security and don’t do anything that goes through a browser and DuckDuckGo is the way…. Well shit. I thought I could plug it in, transfer my balance and be better for it. Now I need to learn about dark web, VPNs, security and what else don’t I know?!?!

It gets so complicated so fast that it keeps ppl out of it. I have used simple platforms like Coinbase which I did not like because I had issues a while ago getting my BTC out into cash. Eventually got it but the issues make me hesitant to try another exchange. I have several products with Wealthsimple including a crypto account. I have holdings there now but know that on the bitcoin side of things that I’ll pay more in fees and may not have the easiest time moving things around or onto a cold wallet.

This became some what of a frustrated rant but I want to know what people suggest as a good exchange/platform in Canada to buy/hold/transfer BTC. I am not very computer savvy and could use some straightforward and simple advice to really get my feet wet and keep buying bitcoin and feeling good about it. I believe in the technology even though I don’t fully understand it yet.
