I was getting ready to make a buy on Binance.us today (I know people aren't always huge fans but I have always appreciated their no-fee BTC/USD and BTC/Stablecoin pairs.) For kicks I thought I would check to make sure that BTC/USDT was still a tier 0 pair as tier 0 pairs are not charged a commission. Imagine my surprise when I saw this: As you can see, they terminated BTC/USDT as one of their two remaining tier 0 pairs on January 23. Looking at their tiers confirms this: I don't mind using USDC instead of Tether; in fact I prefer it. But I do think it's unfortunate that Binance.us didn't send out a notification about this. When I made my first BTC purchase a friend of mine told me "don't trust anyone in crypto." This was a good reminder for me. Exchanges are not your friends and are not looking out for your best interests. [link] [comments] |
