Time Traveling to May 19, 2013: Which coin prevailed and still shines today? [10y old historical CoinMarketCap Snapshot]

Let's go straight to business, I present u this 10y old historical snapshot from CoinMarketCap (Source). Which coin survived? How many projects are gone? How did the BTC market cap evolve? Let's find out!

Historical Snapshot 19. May 2013

(1) A pretty obvious and funny one: 13 out of 14 Coins had 'coin' in their name. Everybody jumped on the Coin-Train, kinda creative right? ;)

(2) Let's look at the market cap: the market cap of BTC was at 1.36 billion USD, right now the market cap is 354 times higher and sits at 482 billion USD. Every company of the S&P 500 would kill for this insane growth lol

(3) Price action:

BTC performance = 204 x

LTC performance = 26 x

Conclusion: Both projects did extremely well, BTC is the clear winner though.

(4) Only 2 Coins from that list are relevant in 2023 (BTC & LTC). Both OG coins have a fantastic track record. Let's look at the other projects ...

• Peercoin is now ranked #770 on CMC
• Novacoin is now ranked #2229 on CMC
• Terracoin is now ranked #2008 on CMC
• Devcoin is unranked (project is gone)
• Feathercoin is now ranked #1705 on CMC
• Freicoin is now ranked #2374 on CMC
• CHNCoin is unranked (project is gone)
• Mincoin is unranked (project is gone)
• Ixcoin is now ranked #1712 on CMC
• BitBar is unranked (project is gone)
• BBQCoin is unranked (project is gone)

Conclusion: No project is in the top 500 anymore (except BTC and LTC); 5 out of 14 projects are gone/unranked.
