Binance will team up with the world's 2nd biggest art museum to release NFT versions of works, including those by Da Vinci and Van Gogh.
Binance announced its cooperation with the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, to create and issue tokenized artworks based on the museum's collection, including limited edition NFTs of Madonna Litta (Leonardo da Vinci), Judith (Giorgione), Lilac Bush (Vincent van Gogh), Composition VI (Wassily Kandinsky), Corner of the Garden at Montgeron (Claude Monet).
These NFTs will be auctioned on the Binance NFT Marketplace at the end of August 2021 and will transfer all proceeds from the sale to The State Hermitage Museum.
It is reported that each artwork will have two NFT copies, one of which will be auctioned through the Binance NFT Marketplace, while the second NFT will be stored in the Hermitage.
Each NFT copy will be signed and dated by Mikhail Piotrovsky, director of the Hermitage Museum. The NFT tokens created by the Hermitage will be presented at the NFT art exhibition, which will be held at the museum in the fall of 2021.
Cryptocurrencies are banned in Russia, but Binance says its partnership with the Hermitage Museum for its NFT products will comply with existing regulations.
